Ethical Power Health And Safety Update

The provision of a safe working environment, that impacts the environment in only a positive manner, is vitally important to Ethical Power. Across the business we employ a number of SHEQ professionals to help ensure that we deliver on this tenet. In all cases they act as role models to promote a positive health and safety culture across the Group. In addition to helping keep people safe, and the environment free from negative impact, they work to ensure we learn from all operations to drive continuous improvement in our systems, procedures, and working practices.

Ethical Power SHEQ personnel:

Chris Clark – Compliance Manager, Ethical Power Connections

Chris has spent 15 years in the renewables industry starting out as an electrical engineer, designing & project managing High Voltage infrastructure projects for large scale wind farms across the UK. 5 years ago. He moved to the SHEQ function within the industry before joining EP Connections as their Compliance Manager. Chris enjoys the diverse nature of the role, assessing projects at the initial stages from a SHEQ perspective, working through our responsibilities as designers, and ensuring we meet our legal and moral obligations during the build and energisation phase.

Dave Zollo – Quality Manager, Ethical Power

Dave has 10 years of varied experience in Quality Management, Assurance and Control in several sectors, including defence, automotive, marine, rail, construction, and aerospace. Working on projects from a Challenger 3 prototype turret to coated lenses for medical microscopes. Dave joined EP in May as their Quality Manager where his role is to ensure our activities meet the requirements of our ISO accreditations, that our management systems work for the business, improving & standardising processes within them. Dave has already made an impact within the business making improvements to our on-site quality control processes.

Ian Reynolds – SHEQ Advisor, Ethical Power Connections

Ian started in the construction industry 20 years ago as an electrician before moving into the High Voltage sector approximately 10 years ago. He has held roles as an HV fitter and Site Manager running High Voltage projects up to 132kV. Ian joined EP Connections in 2020 as a Site Manager and then made the transition to the SHEQ team as SHEQ Advisor, in this role he supports the Compliance manager & EP Connections Directors in the promotion of a positive SHEQ culture, supporting the live projects in all SHEQ related matters including internal auditing.

Lee Onslow – SHEQ Manager, Ethical Power Utilities Ltd

Lee has very recently come on board as the SHEQ Manager for EP Utilities and is a valuable addition given his depth of knowledge. He spent 5 years in the Armed Forces and then over the last 20 years has gained significant experience in operational and strategic health & safety management across different sectors including construction, utilities, civils, rail, manufacturing, and heavy engineering.

Simon McGall – Health & Safety Director, Ethical Power Group

Simon joined EP Ltd as their SHEQ Manager in 2021 and recently moved to a Group role as our Health & Safety Director. In addition to advising the board on SHEQ matters and supporting all personnel within the Group in discharging their related responsibilities, he works with the Group Head of Electrical Compliance to ensure the provision of electrical safety rules and associated policy & procedures. The Environmental, Social, and Governance area is one that is becoming increasingly important for our stakeholders, in this area Simon will developing an ESG strategy for the business.
