Hive Energy Europe
From 2019 to 2020 renewable energy consumption rose by over 34% across Europe.
The European Green Deal has set the target for Europe to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.
Wind and water provide the most renewable power across Europe, with solar being the fastest-growing energy source.
At Hive we are working on wind, solar, and green hydrogen/ammonia projects across Europe in order to support the carbon-neutral goal for 2050.
We are developing projects in Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Türkiye, and the UK. Our pipeline across Europe is currently more than 7.4 GW of solar and battery storage projects alone. In addition to the PV/BESS projects, we are working on green hydrogen hubs in Spain and Türkiye, and we’re supporting the development of hydrogen valleys in Italy.
Hive started in the UK and has expanded across Europe.
Our growth across Europe began in 2015 with the recruitment of Tolga, our Türkiye Country Manager. We then expanded into Spain in 2016.
More recently, in 2021, we saw further growth in Greece, Italy, and South-East Europe. Our Croatian and French Country Managers joined the team in 2022, followed by Poland in 2023.
We are already having great success across Europe. The UK and Spain are where most of our completed or sold projects are located, but we also have completed projects in Türkiye, Italy, and Greece. Across Europe alone we have developed almost 2.4 GW of solar projects, which is enough to power around 600,000 homes every year.
The most important metric for Hive is the carbon that our projects are saving. This will be carried across each section of the Hive group as the teams continue to grow. Our success thus far in solar development means that we are already directly responsible for more than 974,000 tonnes of carbon saving each year.
