Ethical Power Spain has been awarded the EPC contract for two photovoltaic projects in Spain, owned by Korkia. The two projects have a total capacity of 9MW and are located next to each other in the province of Malaga, Spain.
Korkia purchased the projects at ready-to-build stage from the global renewable energy developer Hive Energy in October 2023 and has been looking for a construction partner to build them. Ethical Power was selected as the preferred contractor for the projects for its expertise in utility-scale solar construction as well as the technical knowledge of the sites, arising from their long-term partnership with Hive Energy.
“We are pleased to be starting our first projects with Korkia,” comments David Martinez, Ethical Power Spain’s Country Manager. “We will begin the preliminary works on site in March, in line with Korkia Solar Energy Fund’s ambitious delivery strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for us to further showcase our EPC capability as Ethical Power Spain and we hope it’s the beginning of a successful partnership with Korkia.”
“It is a pleasure to be partnering up with Ethical Power who is a pioneer in delivering innovative energy technologies. The solar plant will be able to reach an annual yield of approximately 2100 MWh per megawatt peak, which is a value that can be reached only in optimal conditions in Europe,” comments Tomi Tervo, Investment Director at Korkia.
