Hive Energy are expanding their operations in Europe, and have appointed a new General Manager in Italy, further advancing the company’s international presence in clean energy market.
Stefano Salerno has been appointed to lead business development in the Italian market for Hive Energy. Stefano brings a wealth of experience with him, having worked for over a decade in the renewable and solar industry, having previously worked as the Managing Director for Development at Quercus Real Assets, the Head of Portfolio Manager at Next Energy Capital and previously the Head Operation and Maintenance at Belectric.
Stefano has worked in senior roles at a range of private equity and investment funds, beginning his asset management career in 2008 for Novenergia II, an investment fund with more than €1 billion of renewable assets under management. Recently, Salerno has launched and managed two successful development platforms, establishing these in both Italy and India. Salerno’s appointment brings advanced project funding experience to Hive’s operations, adding to the company’s clean energy investment and financing expertise.
Over the last decade the Italian clean energy market has grown substantially, and Hive believes Italy to be an ideal location for further expansion due to the market’s legacy. There is growing recognition within the Italian clean energy market on the pivotal role solar technologies will play in future electricity generation. This offers Hive an exceptional opportunity to maintain its leading role in the clean energy industry at large, continuing to foster significant infrastructural growth, innovation and entrepreneurship at a critical time.
Hive Energy’s activities in Italy will include an initial development of 359 MW solar assets across the country, determining which of its various technologies are best suited to each location, and utilizing these accordingly to maximize energy efficiency. This supports the company’s overall mission of creating transformational change for a cleaner future, further bolstering Hive’s local, national and global sphere of operations.
