Great news for our Woodington site – we have begun construction!
Woodington solar farm
This 46 MW solar park is located in Romsey, UK, very near to Hive’s Headquarters. Hive has managed the development of the project until now, and our group company, Ethical Power, are teaming up with us on the construction.
The project secured primary planning permission along with grid back in 2017 and final planning permits earlier in 2022. The land lease has also been signed which has now allowed us to commence construction of the project. Currently the 132kV substation is being prepared for SSEN to install a new pylon in April ’23 with a planned energization date in late Summer ’23. The project’s 85,000 PV panels will produce approximately 49GWh’s of renewable electricity each year.

The Woodington site is one of 23 pipeline projects we have in the UK.
Our total UK pipeline amasses to over 880 MW with projects across England, Wales, and Scotland. Most of the projects are in advanced stages with land and grid secured. On the whole, the 20+ projects are anticipated to have final consents and permits secured by the end of 2023 with goals to achieve Ready to Build status during the year too.
