The Westfield Farm Solar Park likes just to the south west of the village of Claughton on Brock. The site is open, level and takes advantage of the excellent solar irradiation in this part of Lancashire. The electricity will be exported via the sub-station at the Water Works to the north of the solar area. When the solar park is built, the land under the panels will be grassed and grazed by sheep. Despite its proximity to the village, the solar farm will be out of sight yet it will provide clean, green, home grown energy for the local area while still providing an agricultural return from the land and enhancing the biodiversity.
